Teleperformance
My current employer is Teleperformance.
I find it an excellent place to work, and I enjoy a lot of freedom to just get my job done, and I expect I will continue to enjoy that freedom as long as I produce the desired results.
I've worked for the company since 2003, so I've seen a lot of people come and go. I've even survived a merger and a major management shift!
In my time in the company I've come to learn a lot about how very large companies in very hectic businesses work.
I'm very pleased to say we're running clean in a business where there seems to be quite a bit of cheating going on. Nothing illegal, usually, but dishonest.
By "dishonest" I mean creative angling of statistics, very very clever use of resource shifting etc etc. To the best of my knowledge, our clients all get exactly what they pay for.
Ironically, that seems to put us in a slightly bad light from time to time, as we show our flaws when we have them rather than trying frantically to cover them up.
The call center business is a dog-eat-dog world where only the strong survive. It's stressful, hectic and with minuscule profit margins right now. That's why I'm very happy that the company (formerly Twenty4help owned by United Internet) was bought and merged into Teleperformance. It brings a lot of capital to the table, and excellent advancement opportunities for hard workers.
Fits in nicely with my plan to become filthy rich through hard work.
