Software - My hobby, job and passion!
For a while now, I've been lucky enough to be a software developer professionally. While I have years and years of hobby experience, working on an actual production-critical piece of software was quite a fresh start for me.
Suddenly I couldn't decide on my own what it should look like, and how it should work. There was a deadline, and people who depended on the software before it was even planned out properly! Still, I managed to build a pretty good CRM for my employer, and as of July 2010 it is in use by about 35 people on a daily basis!
The next step is to rebuild it for a much wider scope, which is expected to be done by August 2010, so that other sites in the same company can use the software too. Teleperformance in Ljusdal, Maastricht and Cape Town, all running my software.
It makes me proud, and makes me happy!
I'd love to release some of my more tasty source under ESL, but alas, I don't own it: Anything written during working hours naturally belongs to the company! In stead, I'll share my most useful hobby code here, and hopefully that will give people a pretty good picture of what I'm like as a software author.
